Make Sure Your First Party Goes Well!

If you're attending your first party the information below should prove invauable!

If you've never attended a swingers party before then you may well be, understandably, feeling quite nervous about what to expect and unsure of what behaviour etc. is considered good party etiquette.

Some of the tips are simple common sense and may also be covered in our general swingers etiquette page.

  • Prior to the party
Ask your hosts if there is anything you can bring, they may ask for nothing or simply ask you to bring a bottle as there is a lot that goes into the organising of a party
  • On arrival
Introduce yourself to the hosts of the party, and see if they need any help with anything, generally they won't, but it's always polite to ask.
  • Take a tour
Whether you're at a house party or a club, have a walk around and make yourself aware of the location of the bathrooms, playrooms etc.
  • Relax and get aquainted
Grab a drink and relax, introduce yourself to other attendees of the party, you will probably find they are as nervous as you and will appreciate a bit of light hearted conversation prior to the party getting into full swing.
  • Don't be pushy!
There is possibly nothing worse than someone forcing themselves on you at a party. If someone you're intrested in doesn't seem to respond, move on, a lot of people don't like having to say no and would rather simply not mention playing with you than have to say no.
  • No means no!
This is possibly the golden rule in the swinging scene and whilst it may be understood as a common rule outside of the scene, it is respected totally within. If someone says no, leave it there, do not ask why as this can lead to further complications that are unrequired and unwanted
  • Make sure you're both happy
If you're attending as a couple, ensure that both of you are attracted to another couple prior to one of you agreeing to play. You may well be attracted to one member of another couple, but if your partner doesn't feel the same it will end up with people getting upset and hurt!

If this is your first venture into the swinging scene as a couple, you may feel uncomfortable about seeing your partner having sex with someone else, we have a guide for new couples which will help you discuss the ups and downs so to speak of swinging as a couple.

Everyone has their own feelings and these should be respected.
