Hepatitis C
Carriers of Hep C will generally be
referred to a specialist centre.
Hepatitis C, like the B strain of the virus is also
spread through exchange of blood or blood products and can
also be caught through the sharing of needles and
needle stick accidents.
Carriers of Hepatitis C may have no symptoms at all,
however, those that do may exhibit symptoms including:
- Diarrhoea
- Nausea and vomiting
- A short, mild, flu-like illness
- Weight loss
- Loss of appetite
- Itchy skin
- Jaundice
To reduce the risk of catching either of these strains of
the Hepatitis virus you should always use a condom for any
type of sexual intercourse. |
